PATHWAYS 2 SUCCESS

“Investing In the Future”

Our Pathways 2 Success Program began as a partnership with CT State, Quinebaug Valley Community College.  The purpose of the program is to help individuals better their economic situation by providing short term education and training opportunities that can lead to immediate, improved employment.

One of the ways this is done is through the CT State, QVCC Workforce Development & Community Education Certificate Program. These programs help individuals increase their earning potential. Most of these programs are designed to lead to immediate employment or further education.  Some of these Certificate Programs are:

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, CERTIFIED NURSING AIDE, PHARMACY TECHNICIAN, PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN, REAL ESTATE TRAINING, VETERINARY ASSISTANCE, and COMPUTER APPLICATIONS.

To learn about the QVCC Workforce Development Certificate Programs, call QVCC at 860-932-4110 or check out www.QVCC.edu/programs/workforce-2/.  Besides financial assistance, each participant in the Pathways 2 Success Program is assigned a Pathways Partner that works as a coach, mentor, and friend, offering encouragement, advice and help to ensure that each person is successful in their classes and other aspects of their life’s journey.

Another way we provide assistance is to working families who have after school and summer day care needs. Families must meet income requirements and be referred to the program by the Town of Putnam Recreation Dept.

A portion of the funding for this program comes from a grant from the Community Foundation Northeast Area Women and Girls Fund.

Information about this program can be obtained by calling IHSP at 860-928-0169 or by sending an email to ihspputnam2005@gmail.com.
